The Workers Memorial foundation was set up to raise the funds required to commission a memorial. We have achieved our initial goal and erected a memorial to commemorate workers who have died because of their jobs. An outdoor space for remembrance and contemplation and each year on Workers Memorial day we hold a service of remembrance

International Workers Memorial Day is celebrated globally on the 28^th  April each year

Knowing you are not alone at a time of crisis helps with the grieving process, gives solace and helps with mental well-being,

Seeing someone have their life cut short from a work related illness, is a tragedy

Disasters are rightly acknowledged, but the individual stands alone

Those left behind were, in the past, a hidden community who suffered in silence long after the death of a loved one and went unrecognised and ignored by society in general

The dedication and sacrifice that workers made and the suffering of those left behind, is now finally being recognised and commemorated.

We have created a monument, an outdoor space for contemplation and reflection surrounded by nature.

To further improve the area we have provided a public access defibrillator available 24/7/365

This has proved to be a challenging task due to the location.

Vandalism has been a problem, delaying the completion of the project by months. It has added well over a thousand pounds to the cost of the project, money we can ill afford to lose.

The defibrillator is now up and running and available for use in an emergency, lets hope it’s never needed

To keep the defibrillator rescue ready 24/7/365, comes with ongoing costs for which we are solely responsible. The cost of maintaining the monument also falls on us.

We are also offering free defibrillator training courses to TQUK level 2 all this costs money
