Standing as a silent storyteller, The Workers Memorial is a significant piece of artwork located in Vera Page Park St Helens commemorating the workers who have lost their lives because of their jobs
The installation of the statue and first aid equipment has transformed the park into a safer, more welcoming and interactive environment, fostering a sense of community pride and identity. The statue also serves as a significant heritage asset, recognised both nationally and internationally.
A sculpture of this kind reflects the character and culture of the community. A vibrant, caring culture projects a positive image to visitors and potential investors, which can, in turn, attract economic growth to the area.
To further enhance both the visual appeal of the statue and improve the security of the surrounding area, we are proposing to install architectural lighting.
We believe this upgrade is essential to uphold the standards expected from us, while simultaneously benefiting the entire town.
As the owners and custodians of the statue, we are responsible for covering every cost connected with its care as well as maintaining the life-saving equipment.
