The Purple Forget me not is the flower of the Workers Memorial

To mark International Workers Memorial Day this year the statue will be draped in a cloak of purple ribbons to honour those who have died at work.

On Tuesday 27th April at 5.30 the Lord Mayor of St Helens Cllr Paul McQuade will lead a wreath laying ceremony at the Workers Memorial

The Covid19 epidemic has made the past year particularly distressing as so many workers have paid the ultimate price for their dedication and commitment

We must also take this opportunity to honour and give thanks to those are continuing to put themselves at risk doing vital work keeping the country running

Individual tributes can be laid anytime during the week beginning the 24^th April to avoid any congestion at the memorial

You can also pay your respects by observing one minutes silence at 11am on the 28^th
