According to RIDDOR there were 138 people in the UK killed at work in 2023/24. At the Workers Memorial service of remembrance 138 hard hats were set out to represent the 138 souls who lost their lives

138 Hard Hats… 138 Killed at Work 2023/24

It was the biggest temporary artwork in the country representing the souls who lost their lives at work

The hard hats were loaned by Vinci Building who are responsible for the town centre regeneration

The North West Miners Association unfurled their banners
Haydock Band provided the music


The service was attended by the Lord Mayor of St Helens Cllr Jeanette Banks, Marie Rimmer CBE MP, David Baines MP, Council members,unions and members of the public
